PURPOSE OF JOB
Provide Compliance Management oversight and Operations level back up support during times of scheduled and unschuduled PTO to assigned Clerance Center(s); ensure the regulatory and statutory compliance of the Company’s import clearances filed on behalf of our clients and as presented to US Customs and other Participating Government Agencies; ensure compliance with Company's Import & Brokerage Standard Operating Procedures; collaborate with sales and respond to direct client compliance and tariff related inquiries; prepare and submit post entry corrections on behalf of the Company and our clients; assist in identifying and providing training to staff and provide technical and regulatory assistance to members of the brokerage staff as provided below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide Compliance Management and desk level support to assigned Branches within the Company.
2. Assist the Designated Compliance Broker Operations Manager – Brokerage during times of scheduled and unscheduled staffing shortages, Personal Time Off (PTO) in processing and submission of Customs entries with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and other agencies.
3. Oversee annual Customs continuous bond renewals on behalf of the Company, directly communicate with clients on bond aggregation and insufficiency notices and manage department staff to timely invoice clients for continuous bond & consulting services services.
4. Provide management oversight to assigned staff including their designated functions included but not limited to the In Bond processes to ensure that In Bonds are properly and timely arrived and closed, as well as department AR/AP functions
5. Process Post Summary Corrections, Protests, Duty Drawback and Professional Consulting services to clients as assigned.
6. Act as the national account Compliance Escalation Manager to assigned accounts.
7. Timely respond to communications and requests from clients, regulatory agencies, other Company branches and the Corporate Trade & Compliance Group as related to those directed compliance activities herein contained and in accordance with KWE standards.
8. Collaborate with the Director of Compliance and Compliance Broker Operations Managers to establish and maintain centralized client master files with all required documentation; Importer Worksheets obtain and define handling procedures, tariff databases, etc., create customer profiles for entry processing and handling of Customs entries and train the staff as appropriate as related to the same.
9. Collaborate with the Director of Compliance and Comliance Brokerage Manager to direct internal import compliance activities and staff training (as identified through daily audit findings) to ensure that KWE Branch maintains a 95% level of compliance in all entry transactions filed.
10. Collaborate with the Director of Compliance and Compliance Brokerage Manager in the preparation of individual performance reviews, disciplinary actions, coaching and staff cross training where required and assist department members with resolution of issues.
11. Maintain thorough and up to date knowledge of KWE policies and procedures, and government regulatory and industry updates.
12. Perform that work/other functions as may be assigned from time to time by Branch or Corporate Trade & Compliance Management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
List any required educational attainments (degrees, certificates, licenses, etc.): Customs Broker License required
List any required skills (computer, machinery, typing, etc.): Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, Working knowledge of Customs Automated Commercial Environment; communicate effectively in English (oral and written)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
List any preferred educational attainments (degrees, certificates, licenses, etc.): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred, NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist preferred
List any preferred skills (computer, machinery, typing, etc.): Working knowledge of the CargoWise Customs Broker Application
