OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB:

 

To support and oversee all aspects of physical cargo received, storage, and shipping activities.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • PTO begins to accrue for eligible new hires on their first day of employment with the Company, subject to the accrual cap.

Paid Holidays

  • Newly hired employees are entitled to all mandatory and optional/shift holidays that remain for the calendar year.  A newly hired employee who begins employment after January 1 of the calendar year is not entitled to more than ten (12) paid holidays for that calendar year.

Retirement Plan

  • 401(k) Plan (current employer match .50 cents for each employee dollar) subject to the current vesting schedule.

Student Loan Assistance

  • Eligible for student loan assistance after three (3) months of continuous employment, pending verification.
  • Company monthly contribution of $437.50, not to exceed an annual contribution of $5,250.00.
  • Any eligible employee participating in both Student Loan Assistance Program and Tuition Reimbursement Program is subject to a total maximum annual amount of $5,250.00 for both programs combined for the calendar year.

Tuition Reimbursement

  • Eligibility for Tuition Reimbursement is three (3) months of continuous employment.
  • Reimbursement is limited to $5,250.00 per employee per calendar year.
  • Any eligible employee participating in both Student Loan Assistance Program and Tuition Reimbursement Program is subject to a total maximum annual amount of $5,250.00 for both programs combined for the calendar year.

Wellness Day

  • Eligible for one (1) Wellness Day for an annual physical exam per year subject to submission of required documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Adhere to airline, customer and company specific shipment handling guidelines.
2. Prepare and process documentation for export shipments and document any issues or damage.
3. Create shipping labels and truck tags.
4. Organize shipments by airline.
5. Shrink wrap and band pallets.
6. Build and prepare Unit Load Device (ULD) for export air shipments.
7. Load ULDs with freight via forklifts.
8. Inspect completed ULDs to ensure compliance with airline standards and requirements and load ULDs on trailers.
9. Prepare and process documentation for import shipments and document any issues or damage.
10. Receive incoming import freight.
11. Load import freight when dispatched via forklift.
12. Inspect import ULDs.
13. Process import shipping documents and match with physical freight.
14. Breakdown ULDs as per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
15. Offload ULDs and stage in specific locations.
16. Receive ocean containers.
17. Inspect and offload ocean containers.
18. Properly label and store freight on racking system.
19. Process delivery orders by pulling freight from racking system.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

 

List any required educational attainments (degrees, certificates, licenses, etc.): Fork-lift operating certificate, High School diploma.

 

List any required skills (computer, machinery, typing, etc.): Computer literacy, familiarity with basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), use of tape measure. Bilingual (English & Spanish).


List any required special attributes (ability to move/pick-up certain weight capacity, personality traits, certain aptitudes, etc.): Ability to lift unassisted objects that weight up to 60lbs, attention to detail. Ability to follow Transportation Security Administration Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program.

 

List any required experience (of what type, for what duration, in what industry, etc.): Successfully performing multiple tasks in a busy environment, while meeting deadlines.
